I recently finished this found objects assemblage box, and submitted it to a juried call for art at Arts Benicia, in Benicia, CA. which is known as arts town. I have not had a chance to name it yet. Sometimes it takes quite a while to understand what the art is saying to me, so I could name it. It might have a name yet!
I collect junk all the time on my walks in the city and in nature, also from various papers and mags. My studio space is very small so I put them on paper plates stacked on top of each other or, if they are three-dimensional, in plastic boxes that vegetables come in. I wish I had space for a large table so I could spread out more, but we have to work with what we have...I am usually working on a painting and an assemblage simultaneously; when I get tired of one, or don't know where to go with the next step, I switch from one to the other, and usually I know what to do when I return to the other piece.
I really like this piece Anahid! It has a contemplative feel about it. The colors are perfect. Do you have more assemblage I can see? Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYes, I do, and I will be posting them on my Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/ModernMysticalArt
ReplyDelete(because it seems to get more hits)
Yes, I think contemplative is right. It's a slow process like meditation, waiting for the images to fall together as they may...
